Bob's obituary
Robert Truman Neff, also known as Bob, passed away on May 26, 2024 at the age of 86. He was born on March 30, 1938, in Michigan. Bob served in the Army and worked in construction as a drywall specialist in Southern CA for over 25+ years. He was a 54 year resident of Monrovia, CA. What Bob was most proud of in life was being a father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Some of Bob's interests thru life were bicycles, dogs, trumpet playing, photography, chess, chickens, trains, enjoying walks, vinyl record collecting, Sedona AZ, and a good mystery program like Columbo. Bob was always able to find something to enjoy or learn. He had a sneaky sense of humor and a fantastic laugh.
Bob was a true canine lover. He always had dogs in his life. Some of Bob's dogs thru the years were Jupiter, Moonlight, Fred & Ren, BW, Foxy, and Pugsley. They brought joy and companionship to his life. Bob, at the age of 9, started a lifelong passion for playing the trumpet. He was skilled enough to play in a variety of impressive locations thru out the years. Including while in the military, at The Rose Parade with the Mark Keppel band, and Disneyland. In retirement, Bob continued to play with senior citizen bands that toured southern california retirement communities. A fun & rewarding hobby.
Another favorite of Bob was the Tour De France cycling competition. It was a yearly obsession for him to watch. He spent many nights staying up to record every minute of the races, just to rewatch them later that same day. Another passion of Bobs was being an expert on the Dr. Mario video game. Bob also was an avid walker thru his life. On these walks he always seemed to be able to strike up a conversation with everyone he passed by, a true social butterfly.
Throughout Bob's long life, he always kept a smile on his face, a laugh bursting out, and a story to recount. He was a fantastic storyteller. What a man the world has lost!
May he be at peace.
Bob is survived by his 2 sons (Cameron & Andrew) , 4 daughters (Susan, Nancy, Cora, & Leigh), 10 grandchildren (Katie, Keane, Jaqi, Brennan, Sawyer, Meryk, Max, Zoe, Alice, Benjamin), and 4 great grandchildren (Nick, Scarlett, Hadassah, Chase)
