Very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. I worked with him at Ethicon in Somerville in the 80’s, always thought he was quite the gentleman. My sincere condolences to the family.

It was great working with him and with his challenges he always brought the best out of people and made us all take a step back and think about what we are doing.

My cousin, Bob, was my hero one day back when we were kids. My brother, Keith, and I were about 9-10 years old and Bobby was couple years older and a head taller. We used to look for golf balls during the summer. There was an imaginary, territorial border at the corner of the golf course where you should not cross into ‘their’ turf. Yeah I know, danger in Northbrook?? Yes it felt like East Compton or Downtown Detroit to us because the Principalli brothers lived in the next neighborhood, Northbrook West. The town thugs and delinquents. Ask Gail! She went to the course one day to try and sell a shoebox of golf balls and they came over to our turf and stole the golf balls sending her home shaken and wondering about Peace on Earth.
Anyway, we crossed over that day with Bobby and sure enough 100 yards after turning the corner here comes trouble. We then had to tell Bobby about them because he didn’t know. He was smart enough to lead us on to the course hoping some golfers nearby and present would keep us from an imminent visit to get medical care. He was too cool and poised to run but we turned and walked slowly back toward home while they followed closely and well into our turf. Finally they turned and left us alone. Thank Goodness.
I truly felt he was the coolest cat in the jungle.

My condolences to Bob's family. I first met Bob when he joined Integra, at a "CEO Summit". Bob was a great support to me when managing manufacturing, helping to overcome challenges. I will never forget one evening, viting Lyon city center, eating some of the local food (he tested French “trippes”) and getting lost driving back to the hotel.
