Robert "Bob" Summers passed away peaceably on January 20, 2024. Known lovingly by his friends and family as Bob, he was born on February 3, 1929 in Red Bank New Jersey.

Bob met Jeannette Elizabeth Wakefield in 1949, they married in September of 1950. They had 52 wonderful years together, 3 children, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren ( 2 born after Jeannette passed away). Bob and Jean lived the first five years of their married life in New Jersey, then they moved to California where they spent the remaining years of their married life together. Jean passed away in 2003.

Bob and Jean lived in Lakewood Ca, where Bob worked for Douglas aircraft in the day and went to college in the evening where he got his degree in Engineering. In 1959 Bob and Jean moved to Banning Ca. Bob worked for Deutch Company for 8 years, then he went to work of Data Processing. They were members of AFS and in 1968 hosted an exchange student from Spain, Javier Guru. 1971 Daughter Sharon got married to Dale Donaghe. In 1974 they had their first grandchild Teresa Donaghe Everett. In 1972 Bob, Jean and Tim ( Jeff was in college) moved to Santa Barbara. Bob went to work for Applied Magnetics, he worked there til around 1983 when he and 4 partners started Flexure Assemblies Inc. The company closed in 1989. By then he had 2 more grandchildren Brian Donaghe and Stephanie. Jeff got married to Zoeann Lindstrum in 1979and Tim married Deborah Krikorian in 1988. Bob and Jean also raised Jeannies sister Bonnie Pryor Love ( Ken Love)

After FAI closed Bob went to work for Magnacomp in La Brea. He worked 2 years for them in Thailand. When he came home the company had moved to Temecula, so Bob and Jean did too. Bob lived in Temecula from 1997 until 2016 when he moved to Lompoc to be near his family.

In 2019 he moved in with Sharon and Dale until his death.

Bob was an Avid member of the Presbyterian Church since living in Lakewood in 1955. He and Jeanie we Elders at the church in Lakewood.

Bob loved music. He played banjo and guitar. He sang in the Barbershop group in Santa Barbara.

Bob and Jean were members of the Elks club in Santa Barbara and in Lompoc.

Bob and Jean loved to travel. They have been to Spain, England, Russia, Denmark, Bali

Bob loved to play golf.

Jeannette preceded him in death in 2003. Bob is survived by his Son Jeff Summers (Zoeann Lindstrum), daughter Sharon Summers Donaghe ( Dale Donaghe) son Tim Summers (Deborah Krikorian) Granddaughter Teresa Donaghe Everett (David Everett),Grandson Brian Donaghe, Granddaughter Stephanie Donaghe Sandoval ( Gabe Sandoval) great Grandsons Isaac and Eric Everett , great Granddaughters Adelynn and Evianna Sandoval. Bonnie Love (Ken Love) Steven (Chris) Love, Michael Love, Denise Love, Braden Love, Brice Love, Madeline Love, Every Love, Tyson Love, Brandy Love, Nathan Love, Taylor Hill, Madison Hill, Chance Hill, Avery Hill.
