Robert's obituary

Robert Allen Smith Jr. 60, died unexpectedly April 1st, 2023. Robert was born on August 23rd, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert and Rose Smith. He graduated from Oak Park High School in 1980. Robert then went on to receive his Bachelor degree in Business Accounting from Missouri Western University, a Masters in Business Administration from Baker University, and his CPA. Robert met his wife, Amy, in 1980 at one of his baseball games. She fell in love with his laugh at their first meeting. The two followed each other while attaining their undergraduate degrees until they married in 1984. After settling in Kansas City and starting a family, Robert began working for Farmland as an Accounting Analyst. He went on to have a career with several companies as an Accounting Tech Consultant that gave him the opportunity to travel the world, including South Africa, Ireland, Spain, and England.

His family remembers him as a generous, humorous, and a loving husband and father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and supported them through all endeavors. Robert excelled in sports, and as an adult, continued his love for football as a football referee. He prided himself and his crew for officiating several Missouri State High School Championships. Robert found great friendships through officiating before retiring in 2015.

Robert had an infectious laugh and loved spoiling his children and dogs. He accomplished a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and loved all things Royals and Chiefs. He enjoyed his relationships with close and extended family and was blessed to have celebrated many fun family gatherings.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Rose Smith.

He is survived by his father, Robert Allen Smith Sr.; his loving wife, Amy Smith; two children, Keeley Morrow (Benjamin), Shelby Smith; grandchild, Hayden Morrow; siblings, Charlie Smith (Mariann McCormally), Joann Gascich (Scott), Roseann Hoffman (David).
