Robert Smith III, 69, of Wetumpka, AL, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2022 after a battle with cancer.

Robert was born on January 06, 1953 to Robert Smith Jr and Ann (Jones) Smith in Montgomery,Al. After graduating from Lee High School in 1971,  After graduation, he landed his first job as a Maintenance man for the city of Montgomery and stayed until he retired in 2016.  In 1965 he met his middle school sweetheart Joanna, and they wed in 1971, going on to have 2 children, Ann and Aaron.


Robert was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to his than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.


Robert was also a passionate about working on cars and could often be found under the hood when he wasn’t at home.


Anyone who knew Robert knew that he was the most loving father and husband and grandfather a family could ask for. Robert was predeceased in death by both his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Joanna. Daughter Ann(Eric) of Kansas City and Son Aaron(Sara) of Houston. Grandchildren Timaka (Claudell) of Kansas City. Saralynn (Jeremy) of Houston. Evelyn of Houston, plus a host of  relatives. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Liberty Mortuary LLC. There will be a Visitation service as followed.
