Robert Webb Sherrill, known to all as Webb, peacefully departed from this earthly realm and journeyed to heaven on September 12, 2023, enveloped in the love of his devoted family. He was 83 years old.
Webb's remarkable life began in the heart of Texas, where he cultivated enduring love and deep connections. He is survived by his adoring wife of 63 years, Gail "Rickie" Robinson Sherrill, with whom he shared a love story that blossomed at The University of Texas and continued to flourish as they both pursued their master's degrees from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
A man of unwavering dedication and a profound sense of patriotism, Webb served his country as a First Lieutenant in the Air Force, stationed in the Philippines. After his honorable service, Webb and Rickie returned to Dallas to start their family. Together, they raised their two children in the warm embrace of the Park Cities.
Webb had an undeniable passion for tennis, and he found immense joy in spending countless hours on the courts of the Dallas Country Club with his beloved wife and treasured friends. His appreciation for the beauty of the natural world was evident in his devotion to tending to his yard, where he found solace and inspiration amidst the serenity of the outdoors.
Professionally, Webb was a luminary, serving as the esteemed CEO/President of The Sherrill Advertising Company for over 25 years. His remarkable career included representing prominent clients such as Safeway, Texas Utilities, and Ranch Style Beans. Webb's dedication to his work was surpassed only by his unwavering devotion to his family.
In a new chapter of their life together, Webb and Rickie embarked on an adventure, calling the enchanting Santa Fe, New Mexico, home for 28 years. Webb was a man of faith, and he served the Diocese of the Rio Grande by diligently crafting their newsletter for many years.
Webb's legacy of love, dedication, and hard work extends to his family, which he cherished above all else. He is survived by his daughters, Laura Ligon and Jennifer Harrell, and his beloved sons-in-law, Scott Ligon and Lee Harrell. Webb's grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he was adored by his grandson, Sam Ligon, his granddaughter, Ashton Harrell, and his grandson, Pierce Harrell. Tragically, Webb was preceded in death by his cherished grandson, Max Ligon, and his dear sister, Pati Robinson.
