Robert's obituary

Robert J. Shaffer, 67, passed away on May 8, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on July 21, 1957, in Inglewood, California, to Jean and Robert W. Shaffer, Robert was a devoted father to Jennifer, Jonathan, Gregory, and Kimberly. He is also survived by his mother, Jean, his brothers, Steve, Chris, and Scott, and his former spouse, Charlene.

Known for his fun-loving and carefree personality, Robert spent much of his youth and early adulthood surfing the beaches of Southern California. Later in life, he became an avid video gamer, a hobby he embraced with enthusiasm, often bonding with his children over shared gaming experiences.

Beyond his hobbies, Robert's most defining trait was his boundless generosity and unwavering support for his children and those in need. He would do anything in the world to help his children, often putting their needs above his own. Robert also instilled in them the importance of compassion, always encouraging them to lend a hand to those less fortunate.

We will gather for a simple and respectful Memorial Mass to honor Robert's life on May 30, 2025, at 10 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Redondo Beach, California. Family and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate his life and legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of their choice or to one of the following organizations: St. James Catholic Church (Redondo Beach, CA), St. Vincent de Paul, or Andre House of Arizona.
