Bob's obituary
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Seebach, who left us peacefully on Nov 17, 2024. Born in 1945, Bob was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to all. He was known for his hardworking, empathetic, adventurous, generous, kind, and supportive nature, with a huge heart that he shared with everyone he met.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie Seebach, his son, Doug Seebach, and his daughter, Kristen Casey. He also leaves behind his brother, Richard Seebach, his son-in-law, Jim Casey, and his grandchildren, Jimmy, Maddison, and Karina. He will be missed by his nephew, Michael Rapp, and countless friends and community members. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Della Seebach, and his sister, Gail Rapp.
A proud graduate of East High School, Rochester, NY in 1963, Bob went on to earn his Bachelor of Science and Master's in Engineering from Cornell University in 1967, and his MBA from the University of Rochester in 1970. He built a fulfilling career at Eastman Kodak Company starting in 1968, where he contributed his talents and expertise for many years. He was a volunteer at the Community Food Cupboard of Rochester.
Bob was a man of many passions. An avid reader, he enjoyed a variety of books, with history and Consumer Reports among his favorites. He had a great love for the music of Bruce Springsteen, The Righteous Brothers, Simon & Garfunkel, The Doors, and John Denver. He was fond of Star Trek and America's Most Wanted, and the games Wavy Navy and Euchre. He was a dedicated Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Golden Knights follower. His favorite pastimes were hiking, jogging, skiing, biking, and spending quality time with his family, especially at their favorite vacation spots, Cape Cod, La Jolla and Disney World with his grandchildren.
Bob was a master of the kitchen with his favorite foods including steak, prime rib, chicken marsala, onions, horseradish, potato chips with onion dip, key lime pie among others. His keenest interests were also reflected in his appreciation for Thomas Kinkaid and Norman Rockwell's work, and his commitment towards environmental preservation.
Bob's greatest accomplishments were travelling the world, designing a moon rover that actually went to the moon, building spy satellites, and being a loyal caregiver. His words of wisdom - "Life is not about counting each breath but about savoring the moments that take your breath away" - reflect the life he lived. His legacy of compassion and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all those he touched.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on May 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Chili Community Center. We remember and honor Bob for the love, joy and inspiration he brought into our lives.
