It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Robert "Moon" Sauer, who passed away on September 10, 2023. Born in 1936, and best known by his lifelong moniker, "Moon", he held a deep preference for his given name, Robert.

Robert leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory his devoted daughter, Trish Wameling, and his grandson, James "Jimmy" Wameling, who held a very special place in his heart. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Angus Sauer.

Robert was a loyal supporter of the Syracuse Orange and could often be found cheering them on amongst fellow fans. He was a man who found true joy in heartwarming moments of life, often spending his days surrounded by friends and family. He was loved not only for his amiable nature but also for his wit that could light up any room instantly.

His charismatic charm, quick wit, and the contagious laughter he brought to any gathering will be deeply missed by all who had the fortune to know him. Robert lived his life to its fullest and his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. His memory, like the 'moon', will forever illuminate our lives.
