Robert S. Royal, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday September 9, 2021 in Houston, TX at the age of 62. Robert was born on September 20, 1958 in New Orleans, LA to the union of the late Joseph and Dorothy V. Royal. Robert was a life-long resident of Gretna, LA and attended school in Jefferson Parish.

He was well respected and a hard worker. He was known for his warm heart and affectionate smile. He worked as a supervisor for over 13 years at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. Robert loved watching the New Orleans Saints and LSU football teams. In addition, he loved people and was very proud of his children.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph Royal and Dorothy Videau; two brothers, Donald Royal, Sr. (Madelyn) and Rodney Royal, Sr. (Lilian) and one great nephew Aiden Wofford. He leaves to cherish his memories Annette M. Royal his loving wife; three children, Robert S. Royal, Jr. (Toneka), Ashley Samuels and Albaney Royal; three brothers, Prosper Royal (Gale), Ronald Royal (Victoria), and Russell Royal (Carolyn); two sisters, Sheron Moore and Shelia Joseph (Clifford, Sr.) of Memphis, TN; one uncle, Theodolph Videau (Macia) and one aunt, Ernestine Chance of San Diego, CA; three devoted friends, Willie Mae Gray, George False and Steven Young; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Mr. Joseph Balipa (medical transport coordinator) and the staff of Ochsner Medical Center (Gretna, LA), Lallie Kemp Medical Center of Independence, LA. and Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 25, 2021, beginning at 10:00a.m. at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 1249 Leboeuf St, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. Interment: New Hope Baptist Cemetery-Gretna, LA.
