Bob's obituary
Our family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of Robert "Bob" Paul Rodenkirchen, age 65. Bob, a resident of Arizona, was born on January 29 1958 in Newark, NJ.
He was raised in Nutley (1976 Nutley High School Graduate), and has always been a Jersey Boy. He also lived in Kearny, NJ and Mount Bethel, PA. He is survived by two sons, Steven Rodenkirchen and Kevin Rodenkirchen, and three older siblings, Eleanore (Nollye) Rodenkirchen, Laurie Kohanik and Roberta O'Malley, (Tom). Chrisie Martin (Allan), Darleen Garecht (John), Sue Winder (Stan), Mike Thomas (Julie), Andrea Coyle, Joseph Kohanik, Tim O'Malley and Kim O'Malley are his loving nieces and nephews. Bob was married in 1978 to Diane Donnelly for 31 years, since divorced. Predeceased were his parents, Robert Peter Rodenkirchen, 1990, and Eleanore V. Rodenkirchen (Schmidt), 1997.
Bob was a life time professional automobile mechanic employed as the lead technician at Phoenix Rising Automotive. A true lover of harness racing, the NY Yankees and the NY Giants, Linda Ronstadt, Pink Floyd, Elton John and The Beatles. Throughout his life Bob was passionate when it came to his numerous dog and cat companions. He leaves two cats, Allie and Rocky. He treasured his time involved in the trophy room at the New York Athletic Club, and working on home improvements at his house. Bob will be greatly missed. Though Bob was a private person, he was an important part of his family and his loss is deeply felt.

Established in 1990, the Rodenkirchen Foundation provides awards and a university scholarship fund to young Dickinson High School student track and field athletes from Jersey City, NJ.
