I met Bob back in the late 70’s at Hanford Nuclear Works and spent 20 some years working with him. I learnt most of what I know about engineering from Bob. He was one of the best designers I have ever known.

During those 20+ years, we became friends. I remember spending time working on cars and yards together.

Twenty years ago I left for Alaska. A few years later Bob & Jude left Kennewick for the east coast. Since then I have followed him on Facebook, occasionally exchanging correspondence. I will miss reading his posts.

Bye my friend.

You have my deepest deepest sympathy. I’m praying for you during this time.
Rest In Peace Bob. Your friendship was a treasure I will always hold close to my heart.
I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I knew Bob from Jr. High and High School in Richland. We played football together, kept the benches warm, and picked out a few slivers? We did play in several games and Bob was a man among boys.
I have very fond memories of Bob, and cherished his friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends.
Rest in Peace my friend,
Mick Hemphill (RHS '66)
I am the granddaughter of Adeline Swan, Bob’s stepmom. From our whole family we send our love and condolences to Jude and the whole Swan family. The blending of our families was a blessing and we feel this huge loss right now. Bob was such a sweetie and caring. He will be missed. Rest in peace. 💜Shaunna Karlous
I had the honor of being a coworker of Bob's while living in both Washington and South Carolina. He was so helpful and giving of his knowledge for the projects we worked on together. Always kept up with me and was very upbeat about everything. I will treasure the memories and keep him and his family in my prayers. God's blessings to you all.
