Robert "Bob" Donald Pritchard
Suddenly, On April 10 2020, his Mother called him home. A native San Franciscan. Born & raised the youngest of 6 brothers, 1 sister, on December 9, 1929 to the late Clarence & Minnie Pritchard. Proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war 1950 to 1953, then active as an Army Reserve until 1956. A True lover of his country, his flag always flown proudly in his front yard. Spent most of his career in Management of the Car Rental Business in San Francisco, where he eventually retired. In his younger years he enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, surfing, camping in Berryessa, boating & water skiing, known for skiing on 1 ski, 1 handed with his son Bobby as a baby on his shoulders. Greatly loved good music & dancing when ever he had a chance from a young age on, which undoubtedly came from his parents who entered ballroom dance contests & won often. Very few knew, but he also had a great singing voice. As a boy he aspired to be a baseball player, tried out & made the minor league team in San Francisco, they were set to go out of State when they found out he was still in school so had to leave the team.
Bob lived & raised his family in & around the San Francisco Bay Area his whole life before moving to Antioch about 30 years ago where he enjoyed retirement keeping busy gardening, fixing computers & just about anything, for himself & anyone who needed help, took on any project & could build, create, fix, just about anything, always offered to help just about anyone. Also a member of the Harley Owners Group "HOG" Golden Gate Chapter San Francisco motorcycle club later in life, enjoying weekly rides with many friends old & new. He also partnered in a Classic car Stretch Limo Business where he drove for several celebrities including Prince, but also loaned his limo service for his young grandkids to be picked up in style. Known for his unbelievable healthy lifestyle, eating well & exercising daily, known for riding his bike 10+ miles, doing 100s of situps, push ups & pullups EVERY single day, Everyone who knew him admired in awe at his dedication & discipline to keeping fit.
A passionate Dog lover all his life, One thing is for sure, he loved his family with all his heart, including his fur family. Bob had an unforgettable cheerful sense of humor, always tried to make Everyone he met smile. Undoubtedly putting countless smiles on family, friends & many strangers face. He had an unbelievably kind heart, quick to lend a hand, or an ear, to Anyone who needed.
Active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic church Antioch, never missing a Sunday mass where he took Great pride as an usher & known to All, parishor, making it his job to not just usher, but also brighten everyone's Sunday morning.
Survived by his sons Gary (Debbie) Bobby & Wade, Daughters Sharyn Pritchard & Janice Pinelli (Tony) Adoring Papa to Angela Ardon (Ivan) Nick (Tania) Danny (Liz) & Alysia Williams, Cayleigh Tarantino (David) Autumn, Sierra & D'Angelo Pinelli, Nick Ted & Strat. Great Papa to Alex & Faith Ardon, Mariah Matinez, Joliet, Eliana & Alijah Tarantino & Gabriela Grace Williams. Uncle to many & Countless Friends & Neighbors.
We have an angel in heaven watching over us all. He will be forever missed but never forgotten & always carried in our hearts until we meet again.
A service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetary 1500 Mission Rd. Colma
On August 14, 2020 at 2pm. Please join us to finally bid our final goodbyes.
