My mom met Uncle Bob back in the 90's at a church event and were friends ever since.  He was at every Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthday party.  I'm not exactly sure when I started calling him Uncle Bob, as he was my godfather, not my actual uncle, but the name seemed to fit him because he was an extension of our own family. He would insist every December that we go to this neighborhood in Mesa called Cherry Lane that had the best Christmas lights and that we should also take walks around his own neighborhood with Pepper to see what cool light displays we could find, he really loved Christmas. It will definitely feel weird not having him with us for the holidays this year.  Even though he worked for an airline, whenever we took a trip to a different state with him he would always want to travel by car (as long as it wasn't too far away), specifically in his van, and always with wind instrument music playing. Uncle Bob was a man of simple tastes and loved making his caramel popcorn, going to church, playing the flute/clarinet/saxophone, watching his bad off-brand movies (like really bad) and his dog Pepper (which we convinced him to get for company). He had a cat too named Samantha but she was shy and was always hiding from company so I never really saw her much.  I will miss going on our little trips to the Prescott arts and crafts fair and Boyce Thompson Arboretum as those were his two favorite places to go. One of the last times I hung out with him was in August and he invited me to a cooking class to make eclairs with him because he accidentally bought an extra ticket. I'm glad I got to spend that time with him, even if it was just icing pastries together.

Thankyou to all who worked to make the live stream possible so Bobby's family could share in his celebration of life.  His mother Emma was my mothers twin sister and they were Babinec's.  He always was quite and shy, from my memory.  Only in his passing did I realize he had a family which happened when he became god father to Patricia children.  Their heart felt love, for him, really showed in todays  stories.  He didn't come back to Michigan very often and when he did he would bring his wind instruments to play at church.

It is sad, but so often true, that we don't learn a lot about a person until they have left us.

Hats off to Patricia, her family, and friends for helping with the long distance arrangements.

Rest in Peace cousin....Edward John Bacheller  10/21/23

My condolences to Bob's family and loved ones. Bob was my friend and coworker in the training department. His simple, wholesome humor, welcoming personality and strong faith were exemplary. It was a blessing knowing him and he will be missed.

Deepest condolences to those closest to Bob (and to all of us who will miss Bob). He was so kind to my mom and I when we visited him years ago in Gilbert. His "grapefruit pie" was memorable! He graciously gave me the recipe and I've made it a couple of times. But it never was as delicious as the one he made ... OR maybe that was the company that made it extra special! June (old high school band friend) ps And Bob took us to Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Beautiful!
Prayers to the Bates and Mallek families at the loss of Uncle Bob. We know he was so special to you and you hold many memories that you get to cherish forever. You're in our thoughts as you walk through this season without him. Isaiah 41:10 "Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you, I will also uphold you with  My righteous right hand."  Love and hugs to you. Mom and Dad Mallek
Bob Pavlik was a dedicated instructor and also a great friend. He welcomed me into the training group and went out of his way to help me learn the AWA way. His love of music was known to many and I had the privilege of attending many of his concerts with the Scottsdale Community College Concert Band. Bob will be missed not only for his passion and dedication, but more importantly for his friendship. May you rest in peace Robert R Pavlik.

Bobby was such a quiet and fun cousin growing up!  I especially remember all us cousins enjoying the Christmas Holidays at our Moms family farm in Shelby, Michigan year after year.  His mother Emma (Babinec) Pavlik was my mother Dorothy (Babinec) Bacheller's older sister. His sister Diane (Pavlik) Carr was very close.  She said was s great big sister to her little brother Bobby.
Bobby was such a wonderful person and great cousin.  He was compassionate, and kind.  He was strong willed with definite beliefs.  He loved Jesus with all his heart and it was evident through his life .  His music / playing his instruments made him sooo happy.  He loved making/baking treats for his co- workers and other people.  When we went to visit him in AZ, he was the best host and he spoiled us tremendously.  It was like going home.  I will miss you cousin.  We will miss you Bobby.  You were blessed and you were a blessnng.  My condolences to all.  Bobby is at peace and he is celebrating.
Bob will be missed! We all have such fond memories of his classes. His love of music, his kindness, and quiet humor will never be forgotten
