Going to the Minneapolis sportsman show every year and listening to country music in the lobby and collecting brochures on Canadian fishing camps. Then in the Late 1980s we finally made it a reality and went to one of those Canadian fishing camps and had a great fishing trip with dad for his Father’s Day gift!
Dad’s retirement in company newsletter. Great picture, Dad with your favorite drink coffee. You never ran out of ink with all those pens in your pocket, just like your cup never ran out of coffee. Love Matt
I miss Bob, he was a patient of mine at Sholom Home, and Bob always could make my day. I tell all these dumb little kid jokes, and one day he look at my student with the biggest smile he could manage and said, "man, how do you put up with her every day?" I miss you, Bob. Thanks for making my day brighter.
To Bob's family! I used to deliver to his store on Nicollet Ave. He was one of the kindest people I ever delivered to on my route for EZ Gregory. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. I have wonderful memories from way back then! Gail Wegener
Bobby was Mr. Fixit - From Bob's Younger Brother Richie Passolt
One of my favorite memories was when Bobby came home on leave from Osaka Japan during Korean War in 1951. He looked great in that U. S. Army uniform (He was a medical assistant in Osaka).
I was playing next door with a neighbor buddy and holding a cat that was being attacked by this dog ....suddenly the dog jumped up for that cat....and the cat jumped up on my face..claws digging in and I couldn't get him to let go. Bobby heard me yelling and ran over to calm that cat and carefully remove those claws from my face. Then he swabbed those holes in my face with disinfectant and I have always thought he saved me from losing an eye & scars for life....Just one more time when Bobby saved the day. Big brothers are a gift from God!
We all — at the INSPIRE program for Stroke and Brain Injury at Methodist Hospital, and the Crystal Learning Center Adult classes for stroke and Brain Injury survivors — are reminiscing about Bob. We miss him, his humor, the joy he brought to all of us. We love you Bob, and send our deepest condolences to the Passolt family.
I received this email today from a former Southwest High grad and friend of Pete.. and it made me so proud.
Jeff-:
I remember watching a SWHS ball game with a bunch of other 13-year-old kids. When Bob stepped up to the plate, the group murmured, "That's Bob Passolt", with awe in their voices. I believe he was playing left field that day.
Sorry to hear the bad news.
Ted Colburn (classmate of Pete's and one of the SW group at Bunny's)
