Dad would call on my birthday every year one day before his to wish me happy bday and we would often talk about driving to Squirt Peewee Bantam game and his pep talks in the car ......do this do that etc. He never coached a team I was on but I listened to him more than my coaches! His best advice was if you get in a scrum/fight don't drop your stick......I never did and it was a great space-maker on the ice to use vs the hackers.....Great advice Dad still carry a hockey stick with me in the back of my vehicles!
