We've being pen pals for years, exchanging knowledge about photo optics. Unfortunately, lately we discussed more about health issues we shared. Two years ago we were supposed to meet in person but his in-laws illness stopped his European journey. Robert, you will be missed in my heart forever. Tatyana, accept my deepest condolences.

Hope this doesn't "double up" my condolence (I posted earlier but couldn't add the photo). Robert was a great friend and mentor to me. I would call him or email him and ask him "what do you think about..." and he was always ready to help me and answer questions. The trips I took to Alaska for bears (and wolves) with Robert were a lifetime highlight for me. Thank you, Robert, for those experiences. I'll never forget getting eye-to-eye with a sleeping wild wolf, or the bears. You will be so missed!
