On 10 December 2021, Robert E O’Rourke, 84, went home to Heaven. Everyone who knew him will never forget the wonderful times he brought to their lives. Celebration of Life services will be held at Columbia Baptist Church, Falls Church, VA on Friday, 17 December 2021 at 2P.
Mr. O’Rourke retired from the Air Force in 1981 and was Assistant Vice President for Special Accounts at SAIC, where he worked for 27 years.
Mr. O’Rourke received a Bachelors degree from University of Southern Colorado in History and a Masters in Public Administration from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Mr. O’Rourke grew up in Carbondale, PA where he attended Ben Franklin High School.
Rocky enjoyed skiing and taught many his love of the outdoors and skiing. He also enjoyed traveling, dancing, reading and storytelling.
Mr. O’Rourke is survived by his wife, Dr Lynne C Wright, his children, Anthony (Tony) K. O’Rourke and K. Scarlett O’Rourke; his brother, Daniel O’Rourke; his niece, Shauna (Sean) Pevec; and two sister-in-laws, Jacqueline (Jim) Hinton, Lisa (Steve) Garmany. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Pauline O’Rourke, his brother, Ambrose O'Rourke, and nephew, Colin O’Rourke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
