Mr. Oakley was always kind, sincere, and a great man. He is missed and our prayers are with him and his loving family.
I had the pleasure to have so many memories of Mr. Oakley. However, my last gathering seems to stick the most. Last time I saw Mr. Oakley was at Wyatt’s birthday party last year. It was great to see the proud grandfather pull up to Josh’s house in his Porsche. He had a slight struggle to get out of his car, so I said “Mr. Oakley do you think it’s time to get a bigger car for easier access?” Mr. Oakley responded, “surprisingly she gets more comfortable the faster you go!” There was so much joy and happiness at the party. As the party was ending Mr. Oakley said this to me, “Phu you have a beautiful family. Make sure to protect your treasures.” I will always remember his advice and his loving attitude. May God bless and protect Mr. Oakley and his loving family.

Bob was a great guy and true friend who will be missed. I will always remember coaching Josh in little league baseball and all the Oakley glasses we got through him. Our condolences are with you and the family. Floyd and Cindy Teiffel.

Bob, or Bobby O, as many of his colleagues called him had an innate sense of fairness. I recall walking into the Physician lounge at Swedish and he was on the phone with an insurance company. He had been called to the ER at 2 am to care for a patient with acute respiratory distress. He stabilized the patient and admitted them to the ICU. Bobby O had been informed by the insurance company that he wasn’t on their panel and would need to go write transfer orders to another hospital and make the arrangements. He was rightfully upset but remained polite right up to the point where he yanked the phone off the wall.
Over the years, we had a number of good laughs reminiscing about that day.
May God Bless Bobby O and his loving family

Bob,Scott Brogdon, and I were fraternity brothers and managed to stay in touch these many years. Our lives have intertwined as time passed. The three of us graduated from UofL; Bob and I graduated from the University med school. We did not get to meet as often as I would have liked but we did call each other from time to time. I always felt close despite the gap in time and distance. Bob was a really dood friend,he was the most laid back guy I have ever hung with, he laughed easily, he was bright and fun to be with. I have a feeling of great sadness with this loss of a good and longtime friend. My heartfelt condolences to his family and hope their grieving is as easy as possible

75 years ago we were buds at Beechmont School. I borrowed 5 cents from him at a Fall Festival and I never repaid him. We went different ways from then on, but found each other on Facebook many years later. He forgave me the 5 cents, pointing out that inflation only made it worth 55 cents. Very odd that I also graduated from UL med School, but in 1976. I was in the USAF those 6 years. He seemed like a very interesting man. I wish we had visited in person.

Even though I haven't seen Bob in many years, he will always remain in my heart. He was such a kind and loving man. His family was indeed fortunate to have him as a part of their lives. Rest in peace, precious Bob.
