Robert's obituary
An avid golfer (his first choice of sports), Bob was always one to be active, water-skiing, snow-skiing, jet-skiing, camping, kayaking, and golfing until his body finally rebelled and told him to slow it down a bit (at that point, he just stopped slalom skiing, but continued to golf a lot and occasionally snow ski and kayak!). He could always be seen with a glass of white wine in his hand in the last several years, smiling his contagious smile, and enjoying his beautiful view of Lake Anna.
Born in May of 1934 in Storm Lake, Iowa, to Marvin and Marguerite Mullins, Bob spent time enjoying the local football games as well as putting together and taking apart anything and everything, from train sets to model airplanes. After graduating from Benson High School, he went on to join the Navy where he honed his natural engineering skills. From there, he worked for the government in the NSA, then private industry with PRC, CSC, and Magnavox Data Systems. He then went back to the government in the CIA and then as a consultant with SAIC - his career was quite a few acronyms. He finally retired to Lake Anna and enjoyed the rest of his days being on the water whenever he could.
Robert Mullins is survived by two sons, Michael (and Diane) Mullins of Holcomb, Wisconsin, and David (and Lisa) Mullins, of St. Augustine, Florida, and a daughter Kimberley Mullins (and Peter) Raimist of Midlothian, Virginia. He also leaves behind five grandchildren - Michael Robert Mullins, Megan Mullins Andrews, Morgan Mullins, Elizabeth “Ellie” Raimist, and Anna Raimist.
