Mo and I were classmates and graduate of Texas Military Institute, 1965. Our senior year he and Bill Merriam lived in the room next to the one I shared with Jerry Nast. From those years, I remember "Morehead" (we called each other by our last names) as exceptionally kind, reserved, holding back comments until he had what were always truly insightful offerings.

Many, many years later, when I was President of Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Mo and I got reacquainted and he agreed to help our university reset and rethink its public outreach program. His talent in the fields of communication and publicity were superior.

And then Patricia and I met Charmaine, a graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce, where I also served as President, and the two of them came to visit us there.

Mo's death is an inexplicable tragedy, a loss for his family, his friends, and everyone around him.

Most important to remember: this was a deeply intelligent, kind, and decent man. His memory inspires the best in us all.

At St. Mary’s University, we are grateful to Mo Morehead for his generosity. He shared his time and talent with us as our Brand Ambassador. He came to know St. Mary’s through the University’s Greehey School of Business and his marketing firm. Later, after retiring from his firm, he continued working with the University to enhance its brand within the San Antonio community. He inspired others with his creative mind and spirit.
We are very sorry to hear of Mr.Morehead passing. He helped the students in the Santa Fe community through the Rotary Club. He was a kind-hearted, gracious man. We offer our condolences to the family. We will miss Mr.Morehead.
