In Memory of Robert "RPM from New York"

I first met Robert through poker player Mike Matusow. In the poker world, he was more renowned as a friend than a player. When I asked WSOP Champ, Johnny Chan, if he knew an RPM, he instantly replied, "RPM from New York?" That name stuck, and so did RPM.

Robert had an infectious personality, always bringing joy and happiness to those around him. As my roommate for a couple of years, he was a great cook, and I ate well thanks to him. He supported me through a tough breakup and helped me with my business, leaving a lasting positive impact.

One memorable moment was after the grand opening of Hustler in Vegas. We watched a DVD by Florian 'Venom' Kohler, and RPM encouraged me to manage Florian, a decision that changed my life and career, leading to many opportunities in the pool and billiards world.

We had unforgettable times at some of the best nightclubs and pool parties in Vegas. RPM's support in my business and our shared experiences made those years incredibly special.

I have many photos of our time together, which are currently in storage. I'll share them when I retrieve them next year. If anyone wants to stay in touch or see the photos, feel free to email me at p.s.rosen@gmail.com.

Rest in peace, Robert. You will be missed.

Dear Robert Jr.,

My name is Cathy Linney. Karla is my daughter and Sebastian Blu is my grandson. When Karla and Robbie found out they were having a boy, I started calling him Baby Blue. They couldn't come up with a name they agreed on for him. They bounced names off of me after a time, like Luigi, Mario, lol. I asked Robbie what his father's name was and he said Sebastian. I said that is it! But I will always call him Blue. So I was quite pleased when they told me his name was Sebastian Blu. It was just perfect!

Your father was a very kind man. I always called him a “gentle giant”. His cooking was fantastic. When we had family get togethers and holiday dinners over the last seven years, he would be the chef.

Everyone loved his Italian style of cuisine. When we had a birthday party, Robbie was right in the middle enjoying every minute. He always made it special. He was always getting Sebastian to say Italian words and it was so cute when he would repeat them.

He talked about you a lot, Robert. He is so proud of your accomplishments and the man you have become. You were the one he turned to when he was in distress. I am so glad he had you to talk to and hopefully that gave him some relief from his sadness.

Some day I am sure Sebastian will want to meet his other big brother. When I tell someone he is my grandson, he tells them, “No, I am a brother.” My prayer is for you to know this very special little boy.

He misses his “dada” and I have told him he is in Heaven. He said, “where is Heaven”? I told him one day we would all go there. He said,”Take me there now, I want to see my dada”. I told him I should be there before he does and that I will tell your dada you love him. It seems so unfair for him to lose his dada and at such a young age.

It is all so sad and Robbie will be missed by our family even though he and Karla were not together at the end.

To you and your family, please accept my condolences for your loss. I pray for comfort for you and that God will give you the peace you need to accept that Robbie felt the need to leave us as he did.
