Robbie Mirkin, musician and evangelist, passed unexpectedly into glory Thursday, August 5. 2021, at his home in Clinton CT.
He was born Robert (Sydney) David Mirkin in Norwich CT on May 21, 1950 to parents Lt. Col. Joseph and Esther Mirkin. Robbie was a 1968 graduate of Norwich Free Academy and 1977 graduate of Nyack College. He served as a home missionary for the Christian and Missionary Alliance and the director of the Beth Elohim Alliance Center in Norwich. He was also employed as a postal carrier for the Norwich Post Office. Robbie was an accomplished guitarist and recording artist.
Robbie is survived by his two children, Naomi Gagnon of Nashville, TN and Joel Mirkin, of Norwalk, CT, his former spouse, Linda Mirkin of Norwich, CT, and his two grandchildren, Bridgette and Leo. He is also survived by his sisters, Judith Strom of Ridgefield, CT and Janice Misarski of Marblehead, MA and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Lawrence (Larry) Mirkin. He will be greatly missed by his family, innumerable friends and beloved pets.
A private family graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Beaver Brook Cemetery, Clinton CT and a public Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Norwich Alliance Church, 35 Wawecus Hill Road, Norwich,CT
