Robert "Bobby" McCracken, 88, of Nashville, TN, passed away on March 03, 2025 after a brief battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Robert was born on September 1st 1936 ] to John ‘Jock’ and Bridget in Ayr, Scotland and was raised in Saltcoats, Scotland. After graduating from the Central School in Ardrossan in 1951, he went on to be an apprentice bricklayer with Harry Miller & Son Builders from 1952 - 1957. Once he completed his apprenticeship, he did his 2 years of national service in the Royal Army stationed in Basingstoke, England 1957-1959. After his military service he went back to work with Harry Miller & Son as a full-time bricklayer, kicking off a 46 year career in the Masonry field which also took him to the US (New York, Texas & California). He met Margaret (Spencer) in 1955, and they wed in 1960, going on to have 2 children, Mark & Laura. After retiring in 2005, he spent his time taking care of his yard & garden in Frisco, Texas and Ardrossan, Scotland until he came back to live his final 3 years in Nashville Tennessee with his daughter Laura. Robert was preceeded in death by his father John, mother Bridget, brother Johnny, brother George, and sister Mary. He is survived by wife Margaret, son Mark, and daughter Laura.
