Robert's obituary
He was born February 12, 1944 in Milwaukee to Robert and Erna (Papke) Mathias.
In June of 1979, Bob, along with his son and daughter, vacationed at Nicolet Resort in Townsend, WI where he met his best friend and soulmate, Jeannie. Bob and Jeannie were married that same year in September. Together, they have two sons and a daughter.
After dabbling in many ventures during his lifetime, Bob found his calling while attending NWTC-Marinette, where he took classes in both business and computers. He went on to open his own business, and was a Computer Specialist for over 20 years.
Bob was an avid bird-watcher, fisherman, and cook. He had a collection of random objects such as batteries, flashlights, and anything that held sentimental value. He was a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and keeping up with current weather. He enjoyed having conversations with everyone he met, and always made sure to say “God bless you.” He will be remembered most for his life lessons, eccentric nature, self-paced punctuality, but most importantly for his passionate personality and unconditional love.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Jeannie, his children Robin, Bob (Debbie), Geoff, Ben (Tori), Liz (Andy) Bayer, ten grandchildren (and one on the way), brother Bill (Mary), two dogs, two grand dogs, and five grand cats. He was preceded into the afterlife by his father, Robert, his mother, Erna, two brothers, Geoffrey and Timothy, Frankie (first wife and birth mother of Robin and Bob) many beloved pets.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Equity Hall in Pound on Saturday, January 12 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. A potluck luncheon will be served.
