Bob's obituary
Robert Joseph “Bob” Malone, 85, of Alamo, passed away on December 10, 2025.
Born October 20, 1940, in Walnut Grove, Missouri, Bob was the beloved son of Sylvester and Elizabeth Malone and brother to Maureen and Terry.
Bob graduated from St. Louis University with a master’s degree in business and was a proud member of the 1959 and 1960 National Champion Soccer Teams. His dedication to the sport was recognized when he was inducted into the Billiken Hall of Fame in 1995.
After Graduating, Bob proudly served in the Army and was Honorably Discharged in 1968. Bob spent his early career building a successful Student Loan business where he helped countless students obtain their college education. He later transitioned into Real Estate Finance, an area he admittedly knew little about, but enjoyed the process of learning about every angle of Real Estate. In his later years, Bob would happily describe himself as a “Gentleman at Leisure”. Beyond his professional and athletic achievements, Bob had a deep love for traveling the world, playing golf, and spending time with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his brother Terry, sister-in-law Sally, nieces Shannon Bingham, Erin DeSisto, and Morgan Malone, nephews Ryan Malone and Colin Malone, and extended family members Mike Bingham, Dave DeSisto, Meg Walsh, and Rebecca Malone and several great nieces and nephews. He will be remembered with love and admiration by all who knew him.
Services will be held at St Isidore’s Church in Danville on Wednesday January 14th at 10:30am, immediately followed by a reception in the St. Isidore Room directly across the street. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Louis University High School in MO where he has an established scholarship: Robert J. Malone ’58 Scholarship.
