Robert's obituary
Robert L. Hoffman, 76, of Park Rapids, Mn, passed away November 16, 2024 of brain cancer, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in California to William and Berenice (Thiry) Hoffman. He was a St. Paul Cretin High School graduate. He then graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. He married Kara (Downes) Hoffman of Park Rapids, they were together for 38 years. Surviving is his wife, Kara and their daughter Briana (Jake) Hoffman of Park Rapids and grandson Brayden, who brought tremendous love and joy to his life. His brothers are William (Juanita) of Cloquet, Jeffrey (Gloria) of Pine City, Stephen (Serena) Hoffman of Fremont, Indiana.
Bob worked for the Hubbard County Department of Natural Resources for 32 years as a Forester, then as Land Commissioner until his retirement. He loved being in the woods daily, as that was his peaceful place and he knew it so well. Bob was an avid bow-hunter, fisherman and canoeist, enjoying many canoe trips with brothers and friends into the Boundary Waters. He enjoyed sharing and teaching his knowledge of the outdoors for others to enjoy. He was a kind and patient man with a great love for his family. He traveled the world with his grandparents and shared many stories of his adventures.
Preceded in death by his parents William and Berenice (Thiry) Hoffman, grandparents, uncles and aunts.
A family burial and celebration of life was held.
