1984, Sand Lake, Oregon, USA

This is where we got Robert hooked on atv’s.

He’s giving Stefanie rides at 2 years old in this pic.

He recently purchased one just like my original as a collectible.

He continued giving rides to the end.

Uncle Robert was an adventure-seeker. He loved visiting new places and sharing the experience with loved ones. I had the privilege to travel with him on road trips and explore the Black Hills in South Dakota. He loved watching his niece and nephews' reactions to cool experiences. It was almost like he was ready to adopt me as part of the family. He took pleasure in capturing memories through recording videos and snapping pictures of us to share with Mrs. Stefanie. He made sure everyone was happy and having a good time. We would go to restaurants and it was always a battle between Mr. Wes, Mrs. Stefanie and Uncle Robert. He enjoyed sneakily attempting to pay for our meals even though we were a group of 7 or 8 people with healthy appetites. Last November he welcomed me into his home for a week to celebrate Thanksgiving with the Hansen family. It was comfortable and memory-filled. One day I needed to throw a snowball at Joshua Hansen. I was surprised when Mrs. Stefanie suggested I throw it at him inside. I questioned about getting the house messy and Uncle Robert minding. She convinced me, however, with, "It's fine. It's Robert." He was so open to fun and silliness. Everyone was always excited to see him walk down the stairs in the mornings and get home from work in the afternoons. I am so thankful that I got to celebrate Thanksgiving and eat yummy food around his table with the people closest to him. It was a relaxing evening of good conversation. God blessed me when he allowed me to be acquainted with Robert. It is clear how important and loved he was to the Hansen family, his friends, and his co-workers. Uncle Robert is deeply loved and the memories with him will be cherished through generations.
