From the time we first met Ken and Rose at 2010 Parents Weekend, UNC-Asheville, we adored him for his wonderful sense of humor, adventure, service, and giving, his grace, and brilliance in mind and spirit.
We are profoundly grateful and delighted that Clare loves and ‘said yes’ to Josh, and to have known and been welcomed as family with Ken. We will greatly miss him and all the ways he positively impacted our lives and world!! ¡Vaya con Dios, amigo!
Deepest condolences and much love to you, Rose, and to Peter & Shan, Clare and Josh, and to the extended Innes and Breen families and friends.

From the '60s to our "60s": School, American Heritage Tour & Paly class website
I knew Ken from the days of Jordan Jr High through Paly High. We were among a group of several dozen loose-knit friends who amiably chatted amongst ourselves in the school hallways, during lunches, after-school and numerous times at each other’s homes or events. The easy-going common regard among us all was such that rarely did we need more than a quick nod & smile to start up a conversation or share a joke or story.

Ken, Dick Gregerson and I hung with one another during a two-month long PA school district sponsored American Heritage bus tour in ’67; we had many a long discussion into the evening and during shared explorations at those daily bus stop venues.

Ken was always comfortable to be around: he was dependable, trustworthy, always with a bright smile & wit, funny observations (a touch mischievous & willing to let humor lead the way) – yet, always very thoughtful, kind.

Shortly following his cancer diagnosis, I was graced with being asked to take on the management & evolution of our Paly class website from Ken who initially built it from scratch. Due to his difficulties in communicating during this transition, Ken and I never had the opportunity to share thoughts/ideas. Yet I believe, through that shared viscera of our early school-days comradery & PA upbringing, our common regard, values and respect served this purpose without the need for spoken word between us.

God Bless Ken’s Soul and the loving care that Rose has herself bequeathed in her lifetime with him. My Soul smiles having known Ken and shared a sliver of time and experiences with him.
Ken and I were childhood friends in elementary school at Walter Hayes School in Palo Alto. We reacquainted through the Walter Hays Facebook group. I fondly recall how we shared a budding interest in science and literature.
