Robert Hutchings, 48, peacefully passed away on April 17, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by family and loved ones in Houston, TX. To know him was to love him as: Rob, Shon, RobShon or simply Robert.

Robert was born on March 08, 1975 to Taundaleia & Robert Hutchings in Columbus, OH. He was an energetic child and liked being outdoors. The family moved to California and Robert attended Jefferson Middle School and Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA. He enjoyed skateboarding, surfing and basketball. Rob was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers (Kobe Bryant), LA Rams, and Ohio State football.

Robert had a carefree spirit and loved to have fun. He could put a smile on your face with a compliment, off the cuff saying/joke or show his quirky socks. He worked at the YMCA as a kid's basketball coach for a number of years. After moving to Phoenix, AZ he found a career in the mental health field working with teens and young adults with behavior issues. 

Robert was preceded in death by his mother - Taundaleia Hutchings, grandmother - Dolores Williams and sister - Kena Adams. He is survived by sisters - Ameika Hostin and Navella Richard (Jimmy), brother - Matrone Hutchings (Natasha), son - Justin Hutchings, niece - Diamond Dennis; relatives, friends, associates and comrades who loved him dearly. 

Thanks to his work family at UPC for the emotional & financial support shown to Robert. Thanks to the doctors and staff he met along the way during his treatment. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to pancreatic cancer research.
