Obituary Robert E. Howard
Robert E. Howard, husband of sixty years to Daisy B. Howard of Inwood, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at the age of eighty-nine years old on February 5th, 2026, at the Berkeley Springs Healthcare Center.
Born in Wallins Creek, Kentucky on December 26, 1936, he is the son of Wilson Howard and Irene Ashmore. He has three brothers Don, Gene & Bill. Robert has four sons, Robbie, Adam, Matthew, Timothy and one daughter, Kathy. He has three grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.
He served honorably for four years in the honor guard with the United States Air Force as an Airman second class. He was a graduate of Corbin High School in Kentucky where he played football, winning a state championship in 1955 while wearing jersey number 52 that was eventually retired. He was inducted into the Corbin High School football hall of fame and would receive a scholarship to play football at Western Kentucky University.
Robert worked most of his life in several different factories and volunteered for many different community organizations. He coached baseball and was a member of the Valley View Chapel in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He was always generous to his family and friends and well-liked by many for his reliability, trustworthiness and always carried himself as an honorable man.
A viewing will be open to the public on Thursday February 12th from 6-8 pm at the South Berkeley Browns funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday 13th, at the South Berkeley Browns funeral home chapel.
