Bobby's obituary
Robert was the youngest child born to his mother, Jimmie Lee (Farrier) Herd, and his father, Dudley White Herd. His parents and two older brothers welcomed Bobby into the world on August 17th, 1944 in Kerr County, Texas.
Bobby grew up at his family's homestead in Center Point, Texas. His family relocated to the Aldine area, where he attended public school and later met his wife. Although their marriage was brief, they fathered two children together, Bobby, Jr. and Wendy. Bobby often traveled to his father's homestead in Timpson, Texas with his children to spend time with his family, ride horses, and enjoy nature. Some of Bobby's favorite past times were also fishing in Lake Houston and watching old western films.
Bobby was a very proud father, and is greatly missed since his passing. He is survived by his son, Bobby Herd, Jr., and his daughter, Wendy Herd. He is preceded in death by his father, Dudley White Herd; his mother, Jimmie Lee (Farrier) Herd; and his brothers, Eddie and Ricky Herd.
A viewing and cremation for Bobby was provided by Carnes Funeral Home in the City of South Houston, Texas at 9:00 am on November 14th, 2025. His ashes will remain inurned under the loving care of son, Bobby Herd Jr.
