Bob Hart, my father founded Hart Tool Company in 1983

My dad started the company out of my grandparent's garage. He marketed the product by putting the hammers into the end users hands. This drove demand for his product at the local hardware stores, and before he knew it, he was managing a full fledge manufacturing company, know as "Hart Tool Co."  a "West Coast Original Hart Framer" line of framing hammers crafted by framers for framers.

In 1983 Bob Hart laid the foundation for what would become a global phenomenon in the tool industry with the establishment of "Hart Tool Co.", home to the iconic "West Coast Original Hart Framer" a line of framing hammers crafted by framers for framers. One of Bob Hart's framing hammers is housed in the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library related to Habitat for Humanity.  He presented the signature line hammer to Jimmy Carter down in San Diego at a Habitat for Humanity event.  He also created another signature line hammer for Tim Allen, when he was part of the Disney, Home Improvement show.  We all visited the Disney Studios a few times and went to dinner with Tim Allen and the crew after the filming of the shows.  His company was very sought after which caused him to have to reinvent his company a few times. One such name was, HB Tool Company, and Bob Hart Tool Company. After the company was sold, the name still lives on through a Hong Kong company, using the family Hart name. He left a legacy with his hammer company that has evolved beyond the Original West Coast framer.
