Robert's obituary
Dr. Robert Harrison Hoyt, Junior was born on June 30, 1953 in Upland, Pennsylvania, son to Robert and Elma Hoyt. Rob was a proud graduate of Penn State University. He went on to earn his medical degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, dedicating his life to the care and well-being of others. His work as a physician reflected not only his intelligence and discipline, but also his kindness and unwavering sense of purpose.
In 1978, Robert married the love of his life, Bernadette McAllister. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in partnership, resilience, and enduring love. Recently, they celebrated 48 years of marriage—a testament to their deep bond and shared journey through life’s many seasons.
Never one to take life lightly, Rob spent his life doing all the things that brought him joy. Rob spent countless days hiking, fishing, biking, and enjoying nature. In his 60's, he and Bernadette set out to section hike the Appalachian Trail, completing all but the Vermont section before he became ill.
As a Christian, Rob found God in all things—in nature, in his relationships, and the quiet, everyday moments that made up a life well lived.
Robert is preceded in death by Robert Hoyt Sr. (father) and Elma Hoyt (mother) and survived by Bernadette Hoyt (wife), Shannon Hoyt (daughter), Lindsay Hoyt (daughter), Sue Bradley (sister) and Jennifer Kelly (sister) and his 4 grandchildren, Lena, Indigo, Luca, and Leo.
Rob requested to not have a large memorial service, but we appreciate everyones love and support and encourage everyone to share their favorite memories of Rob on this memorial site.
Rob will be remembered for his steady presence, his devotion to his family, and the countless lives he touched through both his personal and professional life. His legacy lives on in those who knew and loved him.
He is deeply missed and forever remembered.
