Robert's obituary

March 16, 1943 – July 21, 2025

Robert “Bob” Charles Hanna, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on March 16, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to mother, Vivian Duplessis and father, Robert Hanna.  Bob was raised in Ponchatoula, where he developed a deep love for family, Cajun traditions, and a strong sense of community that would define his life.

Bob honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps from July 1960 to July 1966, earning the Good Conduct Medal in recognition of his dedication and service. Following his military tenure, he enjoyed a successful 30-year career with UPS, where his reliability, work ethic, and leadership left a lasting impact on colleagues and customers alike. He enjoyed volunteering in his local church and military communities.

In New Orleans, Bob met and married the love of his life, Alice Dufrene Hanna. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, adventure, and family. They raised five children—Annamarie, Terri, Paul, Melissa, and Jennifer—and eventually made their home in Spring, Texas, where they continued to build cherished memories with their growing family.

Bob was a man of passion and energy, known for his zest for life and love of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He and Alice enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, and he was known among family and friends as a self-proclaimed food critic, always eager to share his thoughts on a great meal. Bob also loved gathering with loved ones, listening to music, dancing, cheering on the New Orleans Saints, and celebrating all things Cajun. His life motto, Laissez les bons temps rouler—“let the good times roll”—truly embodied the way he lived.

Bob is preceded in death by his brothers Gene Hotard and Jimmie “Whitey” Hanna, and sisters Beverly Babin and Gwen Ragan.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Alice Hanna of Spring, Texas, and his loving family:
