Rob was smart and funny, extraordinarily talented, a great band member, and a loyal friend and humble companion who loved and was loved by his family and everyone who knew him.
One day in the early 90s we were at Song Cellar Studio in Berry Hill recording demos. Rob came in saying “I heard y”all were looking for a drummer”. “Yeah”, we said “What’s your name?” “Rob Guidry.”
"Did You Say Guidry?” Rachel said, “Then you are in the right place!"
For over thirty years Rob was the heartbeat of the Mystics of Time.
Thank you, Rob, Mary and all the Guidry’s. We are fortunate to have you as a part of our family.

Last summer Rob tipped me off to his favorite Drum store in Nashville. We had a blast taking Wilde, June, and Rex there. Here's to you Rob - rock on! 🤘

MARY, You may not remember me but thats not important. What is important is that Rob was a brief part of one of the seasons in my life. He and I played in the Hubcats in Louisiana. I played trumpet with the band. He was one of those people that left an impression on me because of what kind of person he was. He was so kind and considerate, and ready to share stories. Even though I hadn't talked to him in years, I still thought of him often, especially when I played a certain song or heard a certain drum riff. Fred Landry called me today and gave me the heartbreaking news. I send you my condolences, and know as you being his best friend, that he will be missed.

I played with Rob in the San Rafael Band for many years and learned a whole lot from him. His playing was solid and easy to work with. He created such a solid pocket it was actually hard to mess up! It was clearly in his soul. I will always remember rehearsing in his basement and his pink drums, the many gigs at Mere Bulles (where occasionally his brother would play flute) and all the conversations between sets. Thanks Rob for sharing your spirit with me for all those years. Thank you to Rob’s family for sharing Rob with me. I am thinking of you.

I am so sorry to hear this. I will be praying for you all today and in the days to come. Cherish the memories and hold them close to your heart. He will be missed. I have so many great memories of him and his beautiful wife from high school.

Robby had a twinkle in his eye and a cute little half-ass smile that would melt your heart, since the day he was born. (He got that from our daddy.) His love & sense of humor fed the joy in our house growing up. He was the peacemaker, friend and devoted brother to his eight siblings. It was an honor to love him right back & be his big sister. ❤️to ❤️ God be with you, till we meet again. ~
