Robert's obituary

Boulder City, Nevada - Mr. Robert David Gossett, known affectionately as Bob to his friends and family, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 5, 2025, at the age of 88 in Boulder City, Nevada. Born on September 17, 1936, in Oakland, California, Bob's journey through life was marked by dedication, love, and a spirited sense of adventure.

Bob's early years in California set the stage for a life of practical skill and craftsmanship. Joining the Arm Forces, marine corp. after high school helped to mold his personality and attention to detail giving him a more rounded career and outlook on life. After completing his education in trade school as a machinist tool and die maker in 1954, he applied his talents in a career that eventually led him to work for the government. His precision and expertise were not just his vocation but also his passion, and his contributions were held in high regard by his colleagues until his retirement in the year 2000.

Throughout his life, Bob was a man of many talents, but it was fishing and gold prospecting that truly captured his heart. He could often be found by a stream or river, rod in hand, or exploring the great outdoors in search of hidden treasures. These hobbies were not just pastimes but a reflection of Bob's love for nature and his adventurous spirit.

A loving husband, Bob leaves behind his wife, Sherry Gossett, who stood by his side in both calm and choppy waters. His legacy continues through his children: Sandra Gossett, his firstborn daughter, who inherited his kindheartedness; Robert Gossett Jr., his son and second born, who carries on his father's love of exploration; Veronica Larson, his third-born child, whose warmth mirrors that of her father; and Janice Dillon, the fourth-born child, who reflects her father's friendly disposition.

Those who knew Bob would describe him as a loving, friendly, and adventurous soul. His presence could light up a room, and his laughter was contagious. He approached life with an open heart and extended a hand of friendship to all he met. Bob's ability to find joy in the simple things, like a well-cast line or the glint of gold in his pan, was an inspiration to many.

funeral services will be at Veteran Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr. Boulder City, Nevada 89005 on 9-17-2025 @ 2:00 pm
