2018, Los Angeles, CA, USA
Robert came by my house one evening; it was after the kids had been put down to sleep. My youngest soon Easton is a bad sleeper and wakes several times a night. When he does wake early enough, he usually comes looking for me in my favorite Chair as I am watching the late news or finishing up a movie. Well that night, I offered Robert my favorite Chair while he visited. So, sure enough, my little man comes meandering down the hallway to the living room and heads straight for my Chair, where Robert was sitting. Well, because Robert and I have a number of features that favor, my son, in his sleepy state, didn't know the difference. So, he moseyed on up into Robert's lap and snuggled up not knowing it wasn't I who was there but Robert! Robert got a giant grin on his face and exclaimed, "he's so affectionate and friendly, wow"! I LOL, and said , "Robert he thinks you're me"! Just then, my son must have recognized my voice from across the room and he popped his head up and looked at me and then looked at Robert and took two more double takes, as if to say, "what kind of practical joke is this"? Well he just snugged up to Robert who's lap was probably even more comfortable than mine. After a few minutes Easton was back asleep and I picked him up and returned him to his bedroom and tucked him in. Robert and I enjoyed a good laugh over that one several times between then and his untimely death. Man, Robert...I sure do miss you already homeboy...my brother from another! Godspeed, ole Boy! Godspeed!
