Rob's obituary

Rob passed away at his home in Canada after a series of health issues. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Rob always had a smile on his face. He was a true lover of music, learning to play the piano before his feet could even touch the pedals. As he grew, so did his passion. Rob and his band, Gypsy, performed dozens of shows throughout Vermont. He sang and danced to the beat of the drums, fingers sliding across his keyboard, while the music freed his soul. They carved their mark in history in 1990 as the winner of Battle of the Bands. Although he would forever be a rockstar at heart, Rob eventually stepped off the stage and traded his wild nights for sweet lullabies. Little league coach by day and his "Rocketman" lullaby at night. Rob rocked his daughter in his arms, soothing her to the words of Elton John, which forever became known as "his" song. Many years later, he once again held his daughter in his arms and swayed to this same lullaby, dancing with her at her wedding. Rob loved his children more than anything in this world and strived to show that no matter the distance between them. He felt blessed to raise such wonderful children and proud to see them become wonderful parents as well.

Rob leaves behind his wife Cindy, his daughter Kylee & wife Katelyn, his son Robbie & wife Lexi, and sons Tim and Nate. He is also survived by his sister Teresa & husband Mick, his aunt Carol, his grandchildren Jace, Luca, James, and Connor, nieces and nephews Sean & wife Shawna, Bill, Kaleb, Jess, Chris & wife Sabrina, Heather, great nephews and nieces, cousins, and many, many friends.

Rob was predeceased by his parents Sandra (Gaskin) and James Farrington. Rob dedicated much of his time helping his parents operate their business in Burlington. He was a caring son and is once again in their loving arms.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 20th from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at the Miller Center, 130 Gosse Court, in Burlington. While our hearts are heavy, Rob taught us "when words fail, music speaks." He has been and always will be our "Rocketman" flying high until we see him again.
