Robert's obituary

Robert Evan Langford, 64, passed away September 21st 2022 in Roanoke, VA.

Robert was born July 11, 1958 in Martinsville, Virginia to Charles Lee Langford and Gertrude Ann Lynch Langford. An avid outdoorsmen, Robert enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing with his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Paw-Paw Bob”.  When not outside he loved spending Sunday afternoons watching NASCAR racing.

Never one to meet a stranger, Robert’s sense of humor and gentle demeanor were endearing traits that will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Robert retired in 2017 after more than 30 years working in the asphalt and sealcoating industry.

He is survived by his wife Betsy, his daughters Adrienne (Billy) Coleman of Knoxville, TN, Charlotte Langford of Danville, VA, and his step-children Ricky Neighbors of Providence, NC, Matthew (Ashley) Neighbors of Salem, VA, and Irvin (Olivia) Neighbors of Danville, VA, as well as seven grandchildren.

Robert was predeceased by a brother, Freddy Payne Langford.

A memorial service for immediate family will be held  at 1:00 pm September 24, 2022 at Spiritual Valley in Axton, Virginia. In lieu of visitation the family asks that Robert’s many friends spend an evening outside enjoying nature with their loved ones in his memory. In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for donations to be made in Robert’s name to the Melanoma Research Foundation.
