Bob's obituary
Robert Edward “Bob” Brown, age 70, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on April 24, 1955, in the same city he called home throughout his life, Bob’s journey was one marked by curiosity, creativity, and a deep appreciation for history and the natural world.
Bob was the beloved son of Robert (Jack) Alexander Brown and Carolyn (Rosie) Rosemary Grubb Brown, both of whom preceded him in death. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters Carolyn Thomas, June Atchley, and Debi Brown. His legacy also lives on through his nieces and nephews: Chris Letsinger; Jeremiah Thomas and his wife Karen; Tyler Atchley; Dallan Ledford; and Dayna Ledford. He also leaves behind great-niece and nephews Jeremiah Thomas Jr., Scarlett Thomas, and Brianna Barner.
A proud graduate of Halls High School, Bob continued his education as a student at the University of Tennessee. His lifelong love of learning extended far beyond the classroom. He had a passion for exploring the hidden wonders of the earth—both literally and figuratively. An avid cave mapper and rock hound, Bob spent countless hours studying geological formations and collecting unique specimens. His interest in gem cutting allowed him to transform raw stones into beautiful works of art that reflected his patience and precision.
Bob’s enthusiasm for history found expression in his love for Renaissance Faires and Scottish heritage. Whether donning traditional attire or engaging with others who shared his interests, he embraced these cultural celebrations with joy and authenticity.
Later in life, Bob found spiritual connection at Oasis of Love in Clinton, Tennessee. His attendance there brought him peace and fellowship during his later years.
Those who knew Bob will remember him as someone who followed his passions with quiet dedication. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him and continue to inspire curiosity about the world around us
