Bob Barnett, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to all, passed away peacefully on August 4th, 2025 in Euless, Texas, surrounded by his wife and children.
Born on January 19th, 1961 in Fort Worth, Texas to Robert Earl Barnett, Sr. and Nancy Sue Kelly. Bob grew up with a love for the outdoors and a knack for tinkering on small motors and his toys. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1979. Bob served with the US Marine Corps serving several years in the reserves. He was a proud marine, frequently quoting, “Once a Marine, always a Marine.” He went on to work in the elevator industry for over 42 years. Recently receiving his Gold Honorary Card and Certificate from International Union of Elevator Constructors-Local 21 for his many years of loyal service.
Bob was known for his quick humorous wit, friendly spirit, and unwavering loyalty. His children would lovingly say “Dad was full of useless trivia, the most random facts about the most random things.” Friends and family will remember his big welcoming smile, his intelligent way with words and his steel-trap memory. His wife of 41 years will remember his gentleness and love of holding hands.
Outside of elevators, Bob loved hunting, fishing and time with his grandkids. He could often be found reading old war books or researching weather patterns near and around his deer lease. He cherished time with his family, and made everyone feel included and loved.
Bob is survived by his wife Linda Barnett (of Euless Tx), his mother Nancy Kelly (of Joshua Tx), his mother-in-law Martha Shannon (of Euless Tx), his children Shannon & Chase Smith (of Burleson Tx), Allison Barnett (of Dallas Tx), Conner & Emily Barnett (of Conroe Tx), his grandchildren Sunny Smith, Carew Smith, Cohen Smith and Blake Barnett, his sister Nicole Seise (of Forney Tx), brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins.
