Robert's obituary

Robert Anthony Duca, 73, died February 15th after a long respiratory illness with his brother and sister by his side. Born and raised in Worcester, MA, Bob had a strong character and fiercely independent soul. He joined The United States Coast Guard at 18 and served in Alaska for 3 years. For years Bob worked in the trades, also working for Job Corp. in Grafton Ma. before moving to Vermont where he was employed by Leader Distribution Systems (Pepsi) until his retirement.

He was a celebrated figure, hailing passers-by and feeding friends and neighbors from his massive vegetable garden. Bob was an outdoor enthusiast, His dry wit, intelligence, and generous nature made him a good friend, though he was equally ready to help complete strangers in a moment’s notice.

He leaves behind a daughter, Anna Mae Huguenen & husband Dennis of Halifax, a son, James Duca, of Bellows Falls, a sister Ann-Marie Sarja and her husband Ron, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, a brother, Steven Duca, and his wife Robin, of Delray Beach, FL, a sister-in-law Sylvia Duca of Tomball, TX, a very dear friend Adrian Stockwell of Putney, VT, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his older brother Thomas Duca and his parents Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Duca.
