Late August 197? Bob visited me at my hunting camp in the Alaska Range. He flew a Cub on floats-I was on wheels. I had a none-hunting Swiss client in camp. I hand captured a seven months wolf and Bob decided to keep that stinky critter. Bob flew the wolf in a wood box back to Anchorage  to give it to his brother Mike. The kids spoiled that animal by feeding him around the clock. He grew into  a monster. All the dogs from the neighborhood feared him. Mike -not Bob-was concerned he might maul somebody and Mike gave him to friend in Naknek. The guy turned him loose but for some time the "wild wolf"returned every night for his milk bowl. His time had run out and I assume he was shot. Bob was unhappy loosing his pet.  I liked Bob for his sense of humor. He will be very much missed.
We are with you in your loss of Bob. We pray that the memory of  Bob's love and life will comfort you today and always until we see him again.

So sorry for your loss. Having met Bob when he first taught my brothers Jay and Jon, in a combined elementary classroom, in Bristol Bay and then years later moving to MI and reaching out to see if he had any recommendations for a babysitter (thank you Marisa!). In between these two points when our paths crossed, his partnership with Lula and his devotion to his family made a strong impression.

The last time I saw Bob was at the MI post office a few years ago. Always great to catch up with him-big smile and positive energy that filled a room.  We caught up-so proud of his daughters-and as always he was astute, frank and humorous.

Bob and I were great friends for 65 years, he never ever ceased to amaze me! He absolutely was one of a kind. I miss our phone conversations but I’m so thankful to the Lord that I was able to be with him in Peoria for his 60th reunion, our last days together. Bob, you are missed my friend! Be good in heaven with all the boys, until we meet again! Your friend, Al

Mr. Cusack made science at St. Patrick's School in Washington, ILL crazy fun.  I am sure he is going to put Sister Mary Ann through the wringer in Heaven.  May he rest in peace and perpetual light shine upon his soul.

Bob home for his 60th high school reunion

Thank you for two of the best summers of my life. I learned so much, worked hard and had lots of fun all due to Bob, Lula, the fellow guides and of course the Meek sisters. Bob was a one-of-a-kind man and inspiration to many. Condolences to the Cusack & Meek families.

Bob was one of my favorite uncles. He had the best smile and seemed to be always laughing. I really wish I had been able to make a trip to Alaska to visit- especially after watching him in Kodiak. I’ll be keeping Bob and his family in my prayers.
So sorry to hear of Mr. Cusack's passing.  He was my teacher at St. Patrick's School in Washington, Illinois in the late 60's when I was in the 6th and 7th grade. He was such a fun and inspirational teacher. I never forgot him :🥰
My condolences to Bob’s entire family. I was very fortunate to have known Bob since first grade spent many memorable days hanging out at the Cusack home. He is sorely missed.
