Reverend Robert Charles Crenshaw was born to Josh & Rosie Crenshaw on April 3, 1923. His mother named him a preacher in the womb. He was the seventh child of nine (Four Sisters, Four Brothers). All of whom preceded him in death.
Reverend Crenshaw confessed God as his personal Savior at an early age of 16. He accepted his calling in Blytheville, Arkansas under the leadership of L. D. Davenport, of True Light Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, under the leadership of Dr. Hubert Brewster. At the age of 19 he moved to Memphis where he joined the Spirit of Memphis Quartet, becoming the lead singer. The quartet broadcasts everyday on WDIA, in Memphis. He later united with the Famous Swan Silver Tones, recording such gospel songs as: Oh, How I Love Jesus, This May Be The Last Time, and Calling Jesus My Rock. Reverend Crenshaw met and married Mary Sinclair-McEachin, whom preceded him in death, in June of 1960. This union formed a conjoined family of seven children: Robert Jr., Stanley, Hamlet, Nancy Jeanette, Regina, Karen, and Christopher, all but Regina preceded him in death.
Reverend Crenshaw later met Annie Daniels in 1993. They wed on November 9, 1996. To this union 2 sons and 3 grandchildren were gained.
