Lorene & family -

Fathe…
2020, St Luke’s
Lorene & family -

Father Bob will always hold a special place in the heart of my husband and I.

After inheriting the St. Luke’s interim rector position in the middle of a pandemic, having never met most of the us in person, he picked up a call one evening from two anxious soon-to-be husbands worried about how we were going to be able to get married after having to cancel our original plans. Father Bob in his calming, kind and loving demeanor was right there to let us know he’d be honored to perform the ceremony.

He walked arm in arm with us through the quick planning with a calming patience every step of the way. Undoubtedly, God had intended all along for Father Bob to be the one to stand there with us at the altar to take when we took that solemn vow.

During the ceremony, our photographer captured some beautiful shots of him, beaming! We thought you’d appreciate having them.

Even in a very short time of knowing Bob, he made a lasting impression that we’ll carry with us forever.

Our prayers of peace in the days ahead, and hope that the stories - both big and small - provide you with comfort in knowing the many lives he touched.

With love,

Brad & Adam

My sincere condolences to Fr. Bob's family. I did not get to know him well, but am so grateful that God and his family shared him with St. Luke's and the Epiphany for almost a year. I will pray for all of you, and for Fr. Bob. Best wishes now and always.
My deepest condolences Lorene, Laura, Zoe, Geoffrey, and all who loved Bob. As I sit here with snow falling heavily in Philadelphia, I am reminded of the many snow days and other playdates held on Bainbridge Street when Zoe and I were little. In your home, I always felt held and loved. Bob was a huge part of that - his gentle way, his ability to tell stories and take you through his life, made me feel so at home. I think the best memories are those that can best be described by a feeling, and right now I can very much feel Bob's loving and comforting presence, and I am transported back to those days. Sending you all my love, and wishing you peace and comfort in the days and weeks ahead. May his memory be a blessing.
