Robert's obituary
Robert Brashear
February 18, 1937 — January 2, 2025
Robert Brashear of Azalea, Ore., went to his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior on January 2, 2025, at his beloved home surrounded by family.
He was born to James and Rose Brashear of Downey, Calif., on February 18, 1937. He married the love of his life, Roberta Arrowsmith, on February 11, 1956. After a career in the hardware business in Southern California, Bob and Bobbi retired to Azalea, Ore., in 1996 and built their dream home. He was a man of great faith and dignity who led generations of family and friends to live out their lives in service to others, with humor and a twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes and a generosity of spirit and respect that extended to all with whom he interacted.
Throughout his life, he was active in business, community, and church affairs in Southern California and Oregon. He was a Pacific Southwest Hardware Association member and co-owner of Mid City Hardware in Compton, Calif. Once he retired to Oregon, he was a volunteer firefighter with the Azalea Rural Fire Department, serving his community in the field and as a board member for many years. He was also a faithful member of Azalea Community Church and a long-serving board member there.
He is survived by his daughters, Eileen Aparicio (Joel) of Azalea, Ore., and Paramount, Calif.; Kathryn Nicassio (William) of Salem, Ore.; Nancy Polson of Fullerton, Calif.; and Elizabeth Shearer (Greg) of State College, Penn., 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a brother, James Brashear of Lakewood, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Brashear, parents, James and Rose Brashear, and an infant son, Bradlee Philip, in January 1957.
A memorial service will be held in the summer. Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the Azalea Rural Fire Department or Azalea Community Church.
