Robert's obituary
Robert “Bob” Branning was born on October 7, 1948 in Houston, Texas and passed away on January 20, 2022 at the age of 73, in Leander, Texas. Bob was a man of tremendous courage who faced life’s challenges with a sense of humor and a smile. Throughout his life, he proved his determination and fighting spirit, staying strong until the end.
As a child, Robert loved all sports and as a teenager, took up surfing. He surfed daily with best friends and even some old surf legends in his hometown of Huntington Beach, California.
Robert met the love of his life, Roneale, while attending Marina High School. They married in 1968. They have two children, Allyson and Ryan and four grandchildren, Daphne, Asher, Matteo and Eliana.
Robert served honorably in The United States Coast Guard and went to The University of Southern California where he studied business and entrepreneurship. He was a Production Control Manager/Cost Accountant at Columbia Yachts, a West Coast Division Controller at Ferro Corporation, and owned and operated two successful businesses Hetec and Symcoat. In his later career he worked for HUB Specialties and offered consulting services.
Robert was a wonderful father and a passionate soccer and little league coach. He joyfully volunteered numerous hours at The Little League Western Regional Headquarters, as a team host for teams from New Mexico and Northern California. Robert also served in The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. He loved the Lord and served his family and community with a generous heart.
Robert will be honored in a Memorial Ceremony on April 2, 2022 at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes, California.
