My older sister Jaime and I were spending time with our Dad while at our family camp. We went to the local river to swim called the Eddy. There are some big rocks we used to jump off into the water. So Dad was holding jaime and I both while he was climbing the rock so we could jump off. I was about 6 maybe 7 and Jaime must have been about 10 or 11. As we were climbing the rock we realized that there were 10s of spiders that blended into the rock. Jaime and I started freaking out and screaming, yelling to our dad to kill them for us haha. He did too, he started smacking the spiders with his big ole baseball glove sized hands. He protected us even though there was no real danger. He was even afraid of spiders too, but that didn't matter to him. All that ever mattered to him was that Jaime, my mom, and I were safe. So he put aside his own fears to ensure that his kids felt safe. That is the type of person he was, he looked after everyone else before he did himself. I love you so much Dad, this only one of thousands of good memories and stories I have with you. Rest in peace up there and try not to cause Meme and Pepe too much trouble haha. I love you, your little man.
