Robert John Bodnar, 71, passed away on March 2, 2019 after a battle with cancer.

Robert was born on August 19, 1947 in Youngstown, Ohio to Albert John and Annabelle Bodnar. After graduating from nearby East Palestine High School, he enrolled in the Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he obtained a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Engineering at the University of Buffalo. He met his wife Christine and after their first son was born, they relocated to Canton, Ohio in 1983 where Bob began to work Republic Steel. Soon after, their second son Adam was born and Bob began working for Volvo GMC Truck. The family stayed in Ohio until 1997 when they relocated to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and eventually settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana two years later. Robert was incredibly supportive of Christine during her illness until her passing. Later in life, Bob enjoyed playing with his granddaughter Adelynn, driving across the country with his dog Reese and meeting new people.

He is survived by his sons Jason and Adam.
